HISTORY:
Spin City Cycle was founded on April 1st, 2001. Located at 110-50 Queens Blvd., in Forest Hills Queens, we are completely accessible by car, train, and also the LIRR. In opening shop in Forest Hills, one of our main goals was to offer a level of service never before seen in Queens. In doing so, we had to establish our vast experience in all levels of riding. From road riding, to mountain riding, to extreme sport riding. Our employees have considerable knowledge in all these fields and actively participate in events held nationwide. The heart of our operation is our staff of mechanics which work on site. In order to be the best, one must perform at a higher level than most. Between our crew we have over 65 years worth of bicycle experience ranging from everyday repairs, to that custom dream buildup. We also specialize in bicycle restoration, professional custom set-ups, as well as custom fitting. It is our hope that with our vast knowledge of the bicycle industry as well as the different types of riding which we are seeing everyday, we will stand out as a leader in the field. We have opened a family oriented pro shop. The first of it’s kind. Please join us as we carve a new standard in the term “local bike shop”.

THE SHOP:
Spin City Cycle consists of three main focused areas of riding. Road, ATB, and comfort riding are among the top forms of bicycling becoming very popular in the states. For years mountain biking has held the reign as the most popular and most sought after type of riding. However, beginning with the ’99 Tour De France victory by Lance Armstrong, road bikes has seen a huge increase in demand. Next to road bikes, comfort bikes have taken a hold on the American bicycling populace. We specialize in all fields of riding. Whether it be for someone about ready to compete in a century (100mile), or a family looking to stroll the roads of Central Park, we here at Spin City Cycle realize the necessity of being able to handle each and every customer individually and professionally. Within our walls we house a wide range of bicycles as well as accessories for everyone. If we do not have it, we can and will order it.

OWNER:

With over fifteen years of retail bike experience, not to mention top seller for over two years, under his belt, Jimmy who was a recognizable amateur racer and still is an avid cyclist, seeks to accomplish one thing as a first time bike shop owner. That one thing is complete and total customer satisfaction. “I want everyone who walks into those doors to leave knowing that this is a shop that they want to do business with. Honesty, integrity, and professionalism are more important to me than numbers. I want Spin City Cycle to grow as a neighborhood shop where everyone will feel welcomed and comfortable. Attention to detail for every customer is was sets a great shop far apart from your everyday “bicycle shop”.

MECHANIC:
Beginning his career in Equador some 25 years ago, our head mechanic has much to offer in the construction and development of what will one day become the greatest shop in Queens. With over 8 years of experience working for the Yamaha pro assembly plant and over 15 years as a bicycle mechanic, 25 years of mechanical experience overall, we have established one major factor of Spin City Cycle, there is no job too big or too small for our head mechanic. Sometimes it is quite astonishing how he is able to find an answer for everything. With his main specialty being wheel building and custom assemblies, we are proud to say, we have one of the best.
